OH, I didn't see that. I never heard of them. What tune was it or is that the name? I heard that the ls1edit is really good. Chevy has a few good programs available. There's another good one too but I can't remember. They do mainly custom programs like ls1 and westers. I just can't remember now to save my life.

Futral is one of the sponsors on this site.---->

I am pretty sure they use ls1edit to tune, just like most tuners use.

that makes sense, I heard good things about the ls1edit. Same good things I hear about westers also. I'm thinking about the lt1 to lt4 conversion in my formula. I have a hypertech that's ok but If I do some major mods, I am thinking about using the ls1edit for sure.

Those guys at DTW are full of it. NO STOCK HEMI is going to dyno much past the 260's. If they do, either the dyno is screwed up or the guy running it is drunk. I've watched 8 of em done on the same day and the very highest was 268 with an intake and exhaust. I don't believe anything those guys post at DTW including all the "doctored" dyno sheets. Why? Because I OWN a freaking Hemi...and even with an intake, exhaust, and Superchips programming (which is about all that's really available for it at this point...except NOS, but anybody can use that crap and go fast) it comes up to 291HP and 311TQ. Not to say it doesn't run good or I don't like it, but lets start talking a little truth here. Chevy makes a great truck and those dyno #s he got with those mods are EXCELLENT. I wouldn't want to go up against him. Those guys at "Dumb Truck World" will never get it until they get terminated enough times by some hot rod Chevys. Geez, no wonder you Chevy guys hate us when they post crap like that over there. We are NOT all like that....my apologies to all Chevy guys for that post...and as far as comparing Dodge to Chevy, I think they are about dead even. Nice mod work! Keep it up!!

twangmaster, I agree, the chevy is a damn nice product

but
what part of the country are you in?

you don't think some of the hemi's won't break 260ish? What tempature did you guys dyno in?

in a 3rd gear pull, many people didn't pull a fuse. I know I didn't and I have the dynos to prove that. I even put down 300+ fpt, with only 248rwhp. Even the techs there said it would of broke 260rwhp. Take in mind, it was a cool day. Look at my gallery at dtw. There's a few trucks. Just like the one chevy that came over and ran a 14.7 or 14.8 bone stock. There are a few exceptions. It does depend on the conditions.

And yes, I agree, some of the dtw people are lame. So why are you hiding, what is your dtw user name?

There's no fake dynos over here at least. Just like hemi777s. We got videos of those runs with a 13.7 out of that Longbed, standard cab 2wd hemi. With race tricks and I don't think hemi777 would of got that out of 270hp.

Than all the people said he was using NOS and he proved them wrong when he posted a 12.75 with 100 shot.

Hey, I am with you on most of the dtw people being far fetched. but I've seen a couple that put up some great numbers.

Just as ramairgrabber has said, most people dynoed there hemi's during the break-in time.

The same thing with reaper, I think he's putting some damn good numbers out of the 5.3L. I just wish they would put that 6.0L in the 1500 Chevy. That would kick some *ss.

Wow, I didnt think my dyno would draw all of this attention. The elevation that I dyno'ed at was around 420' above sea level, the temp was 88 degrees with 80% humidity.

The hemi dodge does got some competition with Chevy, there new Silverado VHO 1500's which soon be available in 05 to all states but rite now there only available to some states, they use a Vortec 6000 LQ9 pushing 345 Horsepower, the torque increase's a little but does'nt state, the current SS Silverado Torque range is rated at 380 ft lbs of torque so im guessing this new VHO should be around 390 or higher plus its not AWD which should be good for some mean burnouts and drag racing!
