02 Reaper, when are you going to the track? I would love to see that truck run.

This was in Michigan, wicked.....it was 38 degrees that day, so I don't think cold air was a problem.. I'm sorry, I LOVE the Hemi, but...a 10% varience in HP figures under different conditions is acceptable, starting from let's say a 250 HP base line...which would put #'s realistically in the 250 to 275 range. As far as I knew all Hemi engines are built the same..I'm not aware of any H.O. Hemi's on the market yet. HP and TQ #s are hard to increase without some serious modification...That's why I respect the Chevy HP #s...yeah a lot of mods, but he earned his HP increase and his #'s are realistic. Sure the Hemi can be nickled and dimed right now, OK, (SC 10 -15 HP), (CAI 5 to 7HP) (exhaust including header's 10 to 12 HP) So a fully modded Hemi at 300 HP? certainly realistic, just like the Chevy. But the Hemi 300 Stock, with just an intake and exhaust? No way...sorry.. show me the average for the same truck based on conparisons from three consistent dyno's from different shops and I'll believe it. I've never seen a completely STOCK Hemi break the 260's yet...in fact not even one with an intake and exhaust. I'm not trying to put you down or offend you Wicked....I'm just stating my facts based upon my own personal observence....that's all. I just get a little upset when a guy does some pretty nice mods and achieves some great HP figures, and because it's a Chevy, he gets posted as a joke at that DWT or what ever it is forum. Again, I love my Dodge, but Chevy make a great truck too!!

hey, no doubt, I agree there's not one hemi doing 300hp stock at the wheels. They already proved that the hemi's are not all the same. Superchips found out that there are more than 5 diffferent computers in the trucks. I think that's crazy. I agree about the chevy guy, I think his mods are impressive. There are only like 2-3 people who have broke the 300hp at the wheels so far with the hemis. There are many trucks putting in the 260ish hp range. I did my dyno at 12k miles. Like I said, they only reason it didn't go higher was because of the governor. Damn thing shut down at 4300-4400 rpm doing a 3rd gear pull.

You are not hurting my feelings, we are just sharing our opinons and I don't mind that at all.

Like I said before, I don't know why, the trucks or vehicles in general run good over here in maryland.

I seen a bone stock 4.8 ext cab chevy 4x4 run a 16.2 1/4 mile. Everywhere I have read says they run 17s. I wouldn't of never believed it unless I was at the track to see it. I seen Silverado SS bone stock run a 14.6. Same thing, if I wasn't here, I would of never believed him.

I think that's why hemi777 (tim) from DTW ran a 13.7 with his stock hemi. It's the air and altitude down here.

Eitherway, I like the Chevy's too. I would of bought an SS if it was 32k like they are now. They are giving 10k off of invoice plus the current incentives. Damn, thats crazy.

I just love it when someone (Twang) uses his 2nd post to spew out his pie hole...

Close to 300rwhp is pretty good IMO, but Im suprised your torque is that low. I would have guessed closer to 330ish. I am not to up on the 5.3, so maybe that is normal.

As for what the Hemis dyno.....I am kinda suprised to see the lower (250-260) numbers since I thought they would be closer to 280. But plug the numbers in and see what you get with a 15.18 et @ 5200 lbs. Other than a home made cold air intake, mine is bone stock to the muffler and with 20" rims.
