Default Putting an under drive pulley on a 09 truck with stretch belts

Alright well have a problem got my SLP UD pulley in the other day and was going to put it on but found out my A/C belt is a stretch belt. I Have the new correct belts the pulley asks for but there for a A/C with a tensioner. Can I just add a tensioner from an older truck say 07-08 to mine and be done with it or do I have to get a new shorter stretch belt if they even make one? Can someone take a quick picture for me of a nnbs truck that has the tensioner so I can see if I have the mounting hole for it? Dont want to start messing with anything and be out of A/C till I know exactly what is needed.

^As truckshop mentioned just add a tensioner. The holes are still there, GM just wanted to save 10 dollars a truck and leave it off.

While it probably does save money, it is also 1 less rotating part that you have to worry about vibrating or making noise. Bravo GM, I think its clever engineering.

I still wonder how to take it on/off though.....

And theres the problem. Removal is done with a knife lol. Install is done with a tool that comes with the belt (basicly just a wedge that helps you strech the belt on). I will admit the factory a/c tensioner is far from heavy duty but they still last for a long time and I'm not convinced it was realy a worthy change IMVHO.

Ok thanks thats what I was looking at doing at just adding one. Only way to take these off is to cut them and only way to put them on is with the special tool they come with its like $100 for this belt because of this not very cost effective to me the consumer.

Alright went ahead and got a a/c belt tensioner from an 06 works great both bolt holes were already there making it super easy. Now the pulley was another story that stock one was pain in the a$$ to take off! Lol oh and the new one wasn't any easier to get on but got it on and running great. Don't know if this mod makes any more hp but it does make the motor more responsive it revs faster and seems like it let's the motor make power sooner in the power band. Over all nice little mod wasn't to expensive.
