Worth the $2K IMO. Just wondering what I will get for my used (but fully functional) 4L60E.

like big tex said, there isn't a whole lot of difference between the 60 and the 65 other than a FEW stronger parts. go for an 80 if you are going to go through the trouble.

Although I do agree with you.....The 80 conversion may be more difficult than most can tackle on their own. When the 60 goes in my new truck, its BUILT 65-E time. Check http://www.dreviltransmissions.com/ for some trans options.

Only like 400 for more the 80? Hmm... I think id rather have the 80

Those prices do not include the transmission......just the parts and labor. Like I said, I agree with you guys about the 80......I did one on my last truck. The 65-E is a good option for those that do not have access to a fabrication shop and or the ability to do the few minor mods needed to install it.

Flyer that was you? I read that article about a month ago. That picture cracked me up! I can't believe they would actually put that in their mag. Does one of the editors not like you?

As far as the 60 vs. 80 thing goes, the 80 swap might be easier if Hughes makes that crossmember that was in the article.
