Default question for those that have edit

installed edit on the computer today and down loaded the pcm from the truck and saved it, and put it in the safe here at the house.
my question is is there anyone on here that can walk me through a couple of things.
1. i want to adjust the torque management.
2. adjust the a/f ratio
3. shift points.
4. speed limiter
5. adjust for diff tires

i just need something to get me going till i can go to mti to get it tuned.
thanks ,
Daniel

I can't answer all your questions, but I know the cheezy documentation at least does a half decent job at explaning what all the tabs do and stuff. Read over that and see what it gets you.

I would make a copy of your original file and edit that for getting used to it and how it all works, then once you feel you kinda got the hang of it, start editing the original.

I think deleting torque management and keeping the timing high on the shifts contributed to the demise of my transmission. You might want to leave it alone. I'm putting my torque management back to stock.

XLR8NSS WHAT DO YOU THINK IT SHOULD GO AT. IF NOT TOTALLY DELEATED. I DO WANT TO REMOVE SOME OF IT BUT I AGREE. REMOVING ALL MIGHT DO TO MUCH DAMAGE, EXSPECIALLY IF I HAVE A SHIFT KIT AND SERVO.

XLR8NSS - Putting your stuff back to stock is why you don't have a time on the fastest truck list.

I turnd down the TQ mgnt. on my burb, its not totally eliminated but but its only about 15-25% of what it was. I don't have the file on this computer but I can e-mail you mine to compare to stock. You can't use mine for timing and A/F because its a supercharger tuning but the shift srategies will apply

Thunder, the shift kit and servo will help prolong you tranny after removing tqm. After bombing my first one I though the same thing about only deleting part of the tqm. That sucked! It would shift hard at low rpm and buck on wot runs. Just what I didnt want it to do. I have since played with my line pressures and shift speeds at different rpms/throttle postions so it shifts nice at part throttle and nice and crisp at wot.
btw.. another site to check out is http://ls1edit.slowcar.net
