Default Questions on 6.0L LQ4 build

So I'm getting ready to tear down my entire block and rebuild it I'm pretty sure I'm going to run a all forged 418 or 421 stroker kit! After that however I'm still bouncing around ideas..... I really would like to run a Magnusons MP 1900 supercharger kit thoughts on this kit? Also I have never built a supercharged motor before and I understand the with forced induction motors you want to run less compression.... But how much less? This kit produces 6psi of boost. And would I want to adjust compression with the pistons dome/ flat top etc. or in the heads and cam set up?

I would run the TVS 2300 with that many cubes. Usually people shoot for 9.5:1 compression on boost motors but if you are only running 6psi, then you could run all the way up to 11:1 compression safely. Also, if you are starting with a LQ4 block, I would do a 402 or 408 set up.

What's is the difference between the 2 ? I went to magnuson's web page and it reall only told me the same thing as the mp 1900?

2300 is bigger than the 1900. You can run a 1900 with bigger cubes but if you want to up the boost at some point, you might run into a heat issue.

You should start doing some searches for blowers and stroker motors on this site before you start getting parts. 1st off I would not try to get those cubes out of a Lq4 block and second that 1900 is not a big enough of a compressor for those cubes. You won't see a 2300 kit on their site but if you contact a site sponsor that sells Magnachargers they can set you up.

What about the 408 stoker kits for the LQ4 ??? And what would be the issue with running more cubes out of the Motor ? From all my research I have done the 6.0 block is a good base for a build.

408 is as far as I would push it, LQ4 and LQ9's have not had the greatest of results when it comes to longevity with a 4" stroke. As for a 418 or greater you will have to go to a even longer stroke, if you are dead set on higher cubes then plan to use a different block like a LS2, LS3 or a LSx.

Also with running a supercharger is there a boost target range I should be looking for no more than? No less than? I want to be able to notice a difference without pushing it too far
