Questions about adding factory e-fans to my 04 silverado
First of all, is the only difference between the 28" and 34" radiators the cores? What I'm wanting to do is reuse the tanks on my current radiator and have it re-cored to a 34". Since I have a manual transmission in my truck, I don't want to have a radiator with tranny fittings.
What I'm wanting is a 34" radiator for a manual trans truck that will drop in and use the core support holes without issues (the 2 big posts at the bottom that drop into the holes).
Secondly, if I add the 34" radiator to my truck, I am going to get some e-fans as well. Do the truck e fans bolt into the core support and use the holes that the existing fan shroud uses? I refuse to drill and tap any holes into this truck. Then lastly all I need is e-fan harness and then enable e-fans into the tune, right?
Maybe someone here could point me to a 34" radiator that doesn't have trans fittings and will work for my truck.

From what I remember when I did my 05 efans, the radiators looked the same except for the cores....but that was a few years ago. You won't have to drill and tap for the fans, they slide right in. You'll just need 2 more bolts for the upper fan mounts...if you want to be really **** you can get them from the dealer so it looks totally stock You'll have to trim the 2 rubber flaps on both sides of the radiator with a razor blade or even scissors since the 34" rad is wider (no biggie, you don't even see them), and get or make a harness. I have the Nelson harness and it's been flawless for me for about 4 years-ish now. Then tune the PCM to turn them on and off at your desired temps.
My 05 fans....(I used aftermarket bolts to secure mine...I'm kinda **** myself so it bothers me a bit, I may swap them out some day...)

You have to change the A/C relay hookup wires. It comes setup for 12V to power the hi-speed relay when the compressor comes on. Pin 33 "grounds" out to energize the relay. Rewire the hi-speed relay coil to the fan 12V source for power and the other side to pin 33 and then tune it. It has worked for me for 4 years.
