Quick Question Help!!!!
Got a 99 silverado z-71 5.3 have the chance to get a super low mileage 5.3 motor from an 06. By the way have 200000 on 99. I know the throttle bodies are different what else would it take for the swap. I should be able to swap between the two motors for what i need i would think. Would i have to do anything to my ecm or would it be like plug and play. Really nee a quick answer and some help for the GM LS experts please thanks in advance.

The only things you need to change are:
1. Throttle body
2. Fuel setup on manifold (or just swap your old manifold onto the new motor)
3. Your stock Oil pressure switch off of the 99 motor.
Also, your truck has EGR on it now, which the new motor will not have, so you will either need to swap your 99 passenger side manifold onto the new motor, or get a tune and take the EGR out and block off the hole in the side of your 99 manifold and run no EGR (will still pass emissions testing with the tune and EGR removed)
Any questions?
