I may have a chance to get an LS1 shortblock. Whats a good price for a fresh block?? Could I do some standard 5.7 forged pistons, rods, etc and just bolt up my 5.3 heads and vortech or would compression be too high?? Can I get dished pistons to lower compression??? I want to start getting stuff.

yes the 5.3 heads will bolt right up and raise compression to to boot. great deal if it goes through.

After talking with a buddy and taking into account the price of work (I have no skill), it doesnt seem too beneficial for me. I think Im going to wait and just buy a 6.0 pullout and sell my 5.3 longblock.
