Default quiet catback for tahoe

I'm in need of an catback for my tahoe, however it MUST remain quiet inside the vehicle.

My experience (with the silverado) is that when the cats are gutted, the stock exhaust gets very loud and tinny sounding. Therefore, I'm looking for suggestions from other individuals who are running no cats (perhaps header guys) that have quiet catbacks.

I have heard good things about the stock duramax HD catback in that it is quiet while providing reasonably good flow. Is this true?

thanks,
Chris

I have a 04 Silverado ss with pacesetter LT Magnaflow high flow cats and Corsa cat back. Cab is really quite during normal driving and best of all... no Drone. I had a Magnaflow cat back befor and sounded great but lots of drone in the cab.

Corsa Touring cat-back or Corsa red dB muffler

Magnaflow cat-back has a "drone zone" in a certain RPM range (varies depending on your gear ratio). It has gotten worse since gutting the cats.

I have a 22" x 3" magnaflow welded in place of the stock muffler, it might be quieter than stock. No drone at all. Wish it was a little bit louder, but I'm sure catless LT's will fix that. I think it cost $90 on ebay, iirc.

EDIT: There is also a thread on here that talks about drone being directly correlated to the length of pipe after the muffler, and that the longer the pipe, the lower in RPM's the drone occurs. It has to do with the natural frequency and resulting resonance of the pipe. I am no scientist, but I cut 18" off of my stock tail pipe so that it dumps right behind the axle and I don't get any drone, where I used to get some drone at 2200-2400 RPM.

I know ive said it before but after having a corsa sport on my silvy i switched to a stock tbss muffler. My air intake is now louder than the exhaust at cruising speeds..At WOT it sounds mean as hell

Oh and im running LT's with no cats..

I'm guessing he got it for free off of his TBSS.
