radiator drain hose ??

Default radiator drain hose ??

do the 2004 silverados have a drain plug on the radiator. if so mine is flawed becouse it doesn't have one it looks like it should be there but there is nothing there.

The 04-05 trucks do not have the drain.

I think I spent about 30 minutes on my Radix install for my 2004 H2 looking for a petcock on the radiator. I thought for sure it must be there somewhere because the instructions said it was. I ended up taking the top hose loose and stuffing a long siphoning hose attached to a pump into the engine to drain it low enough to change the required parts. Worked great.

i couldn't find one on my 03 either when i changed my thermostat

hmm.. theres not even a little screw like on the 01's? Maybe there is a vavle and no hose? IDK.

Thats really odd... I would say screw it and take the whole radiator out but you'll have coolant EVERYWHERE if your not careful.

Wonder if it would be in a Haynes manual...

Was it a GM 'cost-cutting' thing or do they want to discourage us from attempting any work on them?
