Default Radix HP Limit?

I am posting here instead of the blown section because it seems this forum has the most experience with the Radix and would best be able to answer my question.

What is the most HP a Radix can support? What is the most HP anybody has observed a Radix support? 500RWHP? 600RWHP? My goals aren't quite that high just yet, but I want to know the Radix will support higher HP levels in the future.

I am curious because I have been considering one for the LS1 I am swapping into my 69 Camaro and I like the idea of the more civilized performance of blown motor than of a heads and car motor like that of my solid roller 392 LT1.

Thanks,

Dave

it's not that i dont believe you but that number seems very optimistic, would they happen to have a dyno chart or anything on that.

here is some info on that blower http://www.magnusonproducts.com/radix.htm

and some on the whipple too http://www.lysholm.se/PDF/diagram_lys2300ax.pdf

based on those graphs lets say they run 10psi, that is 800cfm at 14000rpm, that is at best 600fly wheel hp, now deduct the 60+hp it takes to drive it and you are at 540fly wheel hp. looks to me like 500rwhp would be hard to get.

i have posted this stuff before and would love to be proven wrong. please proove me wrong!!

now if you can read that whipple chart and look at 10psi and 14000rpm you are over 1000cfm. the whipple clearly has more potential since it is a larger compresor but for anyone just looking for 400rwhp it is hard to beat that intercooler on the radix.

i am sure that the radix could put out 500rwhp with no problem. On my 4.8 with 7# of boost and running really rich it made 387 rwhp. The trans was fucked and it was through a single muffler. So if i have a 6.0 i would deffinitaly be making in the 500rwhp range.

i am not sure at all about that, just look at the charts. does anyone have a dyno chart over 500rwhp?

387 out of a 4.8 is great, i think that is exactly where this blower will shine, in the 350-450rwhp range, after that it looks like it will just run out of flow.

Well it is on top of a Lingenfelter built 6.0

I will ask for the dyno sheet if you would like, I am sure they would give me a copy.

The eaton 112 can make the power, just look at the Lightning with some boost and a tune!

i just went to the lingerfelter site, they have a 6.0 H2 kit with the radix rated at 500hp. i am prety sure they rate their stuff at the fly wheel.

are there any lighting guys making over 500rwhp with the stock blower and no nitrous? i dont know the lightning stuff at all, just that some of them upgrade blowers and run nitrous.

I just did a quick check of sigs on a lightning site, and with the stock blower (no nitrous) I didn't see anything over 475rwhp.

Geeez, what is this....Beat up on Brian and the Radix night!

I will find out the exact details on the truck in question and let you know.

I stand corrected, the best I have seen is 475 rwhp, on a stock Eaton Lightning....... still not that bad IMO.

And not to sound like a broken record......The Radix is a great ALL around supercharger KIT. There are other options for "racing" that may be better.
