max power, best torque curve, simplicity, and efficiency is what makes one superior over any other. the ONLY way to know which one fits that is to test them on the exact same setup.

500-575hp with a fat power curve might be better for accelaration than a peaky 650hp.You've got to consider how long your truck can stay in it's best powerband.Lots of factors including weight,gear spacing and final drive ratio go into the equation.
