Rasp :(

still having trouble deciding my muffler. I was looking in to an XR-1 but I'd have to hear it first. Also they're ******* pricey!
but I like how loud it is, I think its perfect, I just hate the rasp... sounds like an old 350 with single 2in pipe, I HATE it!

My 07 vmax had true duals to the muffler. I ported the cats and did a dual 3" in single 3" out magnaflow with the stock tailpipe and it sounds terrible the rasp and the drone just drive me up a wall. After I looked at magnaflows catback for this truck they use dual 3" resonators in front of the muffler I'm going to try this and see what happens. I'm very upset with the outcome so far.

i just got my exhaust finished today. i have LT's w/ 3" ORY, put the new magnaflow cat on it, with my dynomaxbullet(3"), ran it out the stock location, and im def. disappointed. Its the shorter bullet, so now im in the same boat as all of you, what muffler to get. im gonna keep the bullet on for the rasp issue, but so many choices.......

either get a big as muffler or do what i did:
my setup is LT's, ORY, 3" all the way back to the stock location with a SLP loudmouth resonator (pretty much a bullet) and it was freakin loud and RASPY from 2000-3200rpm (my converter is some what loose so thats why i was always in those RPMS, but to my surprise i installed 4" chrome tip that i bought from Advance Auto Parts, the tip has some kind of mesh inside? but by adding the tip itself it took away about 80-90% of the rasp and the tone is very different as well, weird but very true..... i started a post about this try to post it.... so now im very satisfied on the way it sounds, i get compliments all the time! but of all the exhaust that have been named, i persosally believe the BORLA XR-1 is the best sounding so far with very little rasp if any...

AP- I would put a tip on it if mine werent angled down and kinda tucked under for a reason. I HATE chrome haha and really dislike chrome tips. I was goin for the old school look of the tip pointed down. May still try and do a dual tip. But it looks like I'd have to do 2 muffs and some sort of X-pipe but I donno if I would benefit from 3" duals
I like how Borlas sound but theres no way in hell Im shelling out almost 200 for something that sits under my truck.
On that note, Im lovin the sound clips of Spintechs that I've pulled up. Anyone have any insight on them? Im looking in to the super pro street
