Default RCSB with LQ9 MS3 cam to much Opinions inside

LQ9 in a RCSB with Long Tube Headers, Cold Air Intake with a custom tune via HPtuners.

Motor is stock, 317 casting heads with a 4L60e and 342 gears for now.

Will the MS3 with a good tune be two much for a stock LQ9, 317 heads and a 2400-3000 stall? Truck weighs in at 4300lbs

MS3 CAM specs 237/242 .603"/.609" 112 LSA

I would check PTV clearances due to the LQ9 having NO valve reliefs cut into the pistons.

FYI: I called Competition CAM today, the cam recommendation they gave me was for a absolute baby cam (don't have the specs with me, there at work). He kept telling me "any thing bigger would just make my truck slower" and I just don't see it. Thought and opinions?

Thanks for the quick reply, I will certainly follow up on your suggestion and check that before purchasing the cam. From the general knowledge on the net, I don't believe there will be a PTV clearance problem though.

I can see why it'd make your truck slower. 10:1 comp isn't exactly high compression. Your brakes will be **** and your bottom end and midrange will suck as well

Do you have any idea if there's a dyno chart? If so, I'd like to see it. I'm willing to bet the power doesn't come on until 4500-4800RPM's.

I'd go A lot bigger than a 3K stall

what size stall? you definitely don't have the gear for it. heads would be a major plus for that cam. its a bit on the huge side for your mods if you ask me. that cam will need a 3800-4000 stall IMO.
