Default Regular Maintenance?

My truck has about 9k miles on it, i do the oil every 3k, keep tire pressure checked etc. What else should i be doing? any parts of the suspension i should be lubing up? I plow with it so should i have the 4wd and transmission serviced, can i do it myself? Thanks for the input. Just want to keep her running strong!

Its the part of your driveshaft that enters the tranny. Drop the shaft (easy) and stick some lube in there and your set.

Sounds like your truck is newer so you probly dont need to do that for while. You might even have the slip-yoke from factory that doesnt clunk like mine does

MackDaddy brought up the stuff I recommend also. My PS fluid was NASTY when I changed it...very dark brown. I think just change the resivior fluid every other oil change and you'll be fine.

I change my fuel filter evey 10K mi, mine was already pretty soiled when I cut it open at 10K. PCV is easy to change also, it's $3, so prolly every 10K also.

Also I drain my ATF and refill every 10K mi. Takes about 15min and costs <$5. The filter is just a screen so no real sense to replace it until about every 50K I'd say.

Greasin' the Zerks every oil change is good too. I got a nice gun w/ rubber hose for $10 at the local auto parts store.

Transfercase/Diffs... I do them every 50K. Beware diff oil is smelly. That's why it's called the rear end b/c it smells like ***.

Bleed the brakes every 25K is good. I need to do mine here soon.

I do oil/filter/chassis lube at the DIC intervals... 4-6K miles.

Other than that, not much. I'll probably do tranny fluid around 35K. Probably differential fluids then too.

Anyone notice that differential lube schedules are not listed in their owners manual? It's totally missing from mine.

Also, I went to do the slip yoke greasing thing, but found a healthy teaspoon of clean ATF fluid in it when I pulled down the driveshaft. I didn't think putting any grease in there was necessary. Am I wrong?

alright well next oil change i'll probably hitt up the pcv and fuel filter, and new air filter, i run premium gas so the fuel filter shouldn't be to bad. Thanks for all the input guys, what about radiator fluid? The tranny fluid change is easy in this truck because theres a drain pan in the plug right? Also lately my rear end has been like chattering after being on the highway, at take off only. I heard this is a common problem 03-04 in the 2500hds is this true? To have the dealer fix it i guess you have to leave it for a couple days, not real keen on doing that. Especially after the exhaust.
