Default removing starter

Let me say that this is the worse trouble i've had working on anything. its a 2003 GMC SIERRA I dont have enough room to pry this thing out. Whats the secret????

Remove the oil dip stick tube and will come out.
I have a 02 and my starter wont come out unless you remove the oil dip stick tube.

hmmm thats odd...on my 2000 I didnt have to take it out???...maybe seein mines a standard or somethin?...I had my starter in and out like 4 times while doing my trans swap

I don't know I had trans out (3) times and once to do the cam swap and I take out the oil dip stick tube and comes right out with no fighting.

It's out thanks to yalls help and the help of bud light to keep me from torching the truck..... now off to get it tested to see if thats why I cant get the truck to crank.

truck wouldnt crank. voltage reads 11.5 with the key on. only thing i heard clicking was the tb. I changed batterys and checked relays and fuses. tried jumping it off and it wouldnt crank. can it be anything other then the starter???/
