Default Replacing stock muffler

I am thinking about just removing my stock muffler and replacing it with a magnaflow, areochamber, or flowmaster. not sure yet i like the sound of a flowmaster, but anyway. I am just doing this for the time being until i can save enough money to buy a complete exhaust set up. LT's and cat back and tune...

What i was wondering is what tye of muffler should i get. what i am getting at is what offset should i get.... i.e offset/offset, center/offset, offset/center, offset/offset on same side, center/center..... I know that the stock pipes are 2.75" and that i want to buy a 3" muffler. i didnt know which one fits the best on stock exhaust pipes. flowmasters website said that center/offset was what fits on 99+ trucks. i just want to be able to do this without taking it to an exhaust shop to have any pipes bent. i can weld it up just do not have a pipe bender.
If anyone has done this or has any info let me know thanks...

I have a Magnaflow and love the way it sounds. Also. I like the aerochamber too. I have a custom catback. 3in mid-pipe 3in dual out muffler.

I just got a magnaflow in the stock location and then dumped right after the muffler. It sounds ok, would like it a little louder.

My Magnaflow is...dang, I don't remember! I want to say center/offset but it may be offset/center. I'll update when I get a chance to check it out!

FWIW, I really like the Magnaflow. I've had Flowmaster and Imco and I like the Magnaflow best.

whatever you decide. I'm pretty sure you will want a center in offset out.

I have a Magnaflow in place of my stock muffler. It is 3" in and out, center/offset, and is the one that is around 22" long. Simply cut out the stocker and welded in the Magnaflow with a weld build up to make up the difference in diameters. This long Magnaflow is not loud at all, more of a deep rumble.

Mine is center in/offset out too. I think mine is 18 inches long along with a resonator now and it sounds very good with headers and no cats. Moderate idle, quiet at cruise, but opens up when I get on it.
