Default Are the resonator tips any good at making exhaust a little quieter?

got the american racing headers now and no cats and it was terrible with the flowmaster so it is gone now and in its place is a borla pro xs muffler and is very quiet when cruising and no resonation what so ever but wot it is pretty loud. It is louder than the flow was and trying to get it a little quieter and was wondering if a set of the tips with resonators built in would help at all. I dont want to add another in line muffler and kill it so looking for other options. I was very surprised how quiet it was with the borla until I stomped it. Sounds good just very loud still and where I live could get me too much attention and is forcing me to drive with a light pedal all the time.

it would help a little, you can also install a glass pack after the muffler to quiet it down also. My muffler shop suggested a glass pack as a resonator and it worked like a champ.

I'm in the same boat. I just put on a catless ARH system with a Borla cat-back. Its actually the GMPP cat back which was made by borla. For those of you who havent heard it on an otherwise stock truck... its really quiet and mellow. Almost undetectable at idle, but noticable under throttle. With the headers its still not bad at idle and decent at cruise (slight drone now), but WOT it is LOUD and very racy. I love it.

I was thinking about ways to reduce the slight drone while keeping the crazy WOT sound. How would a bullett or glass pack help me there?

I'm not trying to Hi-jack this thread I just wanted to put in my .02 since my situation is so similar.

just curious why change the muffler if the sound is too much.

changing the muffler to a performance one will be louder thats just the way it is.
