Results from installing 212/218 High Lift 114 LSA Comp Cam
I installed the above cam in my pickup this weekend, vehicle specs - 1999 2500, extended cab LT, long bed, 4X4, 265/75R16 tires vehicle weight on electric scales - 6000 pounds. Mods - Hamm headers, dual exhaust, electric fans, ASP crank pulley, Hypertech programmer, SLP rockers (removed b/c of high lift cam). With the above mods it always showed 15.8 to 16.0 1/4 mile on a G-tech in 90 degree weather. This afternoon with only 5 miles on the cam it showed 15.5 and 15.45 1/4 mile times. Wish I had more time to play with to see if it would do any better but ran out of time. I'm really impressed with the results, no idle issues, no ses light, no low end torque lost, I almost wish I went with a bigger cam.

What RPM are you shifting at?Mine is dead on 6K,which i think is perfect. If i had mine to do over again i would have went with something close to the BiGTeX cam.OR something like 208/216 550 113LC something in this range that would peak at 6k RPM and idle smooth with little lope.

I guess I should have posted my results from the JPR tool. Well, I had the same results. Drivers side went in smoothly, passenger side only went in half way. Was very easy to wedge it in there and took some pressure to get out. At this point, I could tell the lifters weren't going to fall and I really didn't need the tool. I have talked to several other truck guys who have had the same results with the JPR tool. Must be a difference in the iron block.
Fortunately, I bought it from Thunder Racing. I called them up the next day and they let me return it for credit since it didn't work right. I have heard that there is an updated version that has a little more shaved off to allow it to work, but I cant say for sure.
