Ring Gap Recomendations

Ring Gap Recomendations
Seems like it's taking forever, but finally getting to a point to start working on building the motor. I have all the engine specs and clearances for a stock engine. Seems that after doing a few searches I should run the ring gap closer than stock for a boosted application. This will be with diamond pistons and thier file to fit rings. What do you guys recommmend??

I've always been afraid to run a ring-gap any less than the stock recommendation.....I've seen what happens when a ring expands too much and the ends touch (it ain't pretty and usually involves boring the block)
I would err on the side of safety and deal with the slightly greater potential for blow-by as opposed to gapping narrower and running the risk of scoring the cylinder walls due to too little ring-gap
also...make sure that the ring-gaps are opposite one another on the piston......it helps keep blow-by to a minimum

Do NOT go tighter than stock specs-especially on a boosted motor. The more heat you create in the chamber the more gap you are gonna need for expansion. I would say go about .022 on the top and second rings, but everybody will have a different opinion on this-its like asking "what size tires are best for my truck"
