Default rocker arms

Was just wondering if anyone actually uses some aftermarket rocker arms? Which are good and which are bad? Anyone use the comp upgrade kit?

I'm probably just going to reuse my stock ones but I was just wondering lol. Mine have 151k miles on them and I feel kinda iffy reusing them.

I've been daily driving my Harland Sharp 1.7's for over 20k now and they're holding up good so far. They bolted right in and had a perfect swipe pattern on the top of the valves, I just had to clearance the heads a tiny bit on the pushrod side of the rocker as the clearance was too tight for my liking. Just ground little notches in and all is well.

A few guys have been installing the Comp trunion upgrade lately and I haven't heard anything bad as of yet. There was recently some debate about the stock rocker limits, can't remember if it was in the GM section or the internal section, I'll see if I can find the thread....

I bought them from TSP a few years back (at least 5 or 6 years), IIRC they were $399 at the time, but I'm going to assume that the price has gone up by then

*EDIT* Just checked TSP's website, they did go up, but not much, only $415 now:

Lemme take this opportunity to pic ***** a bit ...and also mention that the blue loom is long gone in lieu of some black loom

I think bigschwerm is selling some 1.8's. That is going to effect your cam specs though.

Yes the lift will increase, and if they're the Crane Gold's, I believe that they have an affect on duration also...

Yeah I was looking at texas speeds was just wondering where ya got yours if you had a "special dealer" . I think I might pick up a set. Everything should be pretty much new on my LS1 besides the oil pan, front and rear covers, windage tray, pickup tube, and stock valley cover. Wondering if there is anything else I should upgrade while everything is apart.

I ran the 1.8 Crane Gold's on my last combo and never had to take the valve covers off. I bought the kit that came with rockers, studs, poly locks, guide plates and pushrods.
