Default rod bolts and 4wd.

is it easier to pull the motor in a 4wd to do rod bolt or leave it in the truck?? i see there is a crossmember that i can take out to get to the pan but i'm not sure if it will drop far enough down over the front diff to pull the pan out. i also have to put in a yank tc and transgo shift kit i can get to the tc if i pull the motor but which will be easier pull motor to do rod bolts and tc or pull trans and crossmember to do rod bolts and tc??

I don't know if this helps you or not, But I have a 2004 AWD and I replaced the rod bolts and it was no problem. Just drop the cross member and pull the pan

It should be the same as the 4wd. On the front diff cover, you cant take it off. The diff case splits, it doesnt have a cover on it.

Personally I find the easiest way to change teh rod bolts is to blow the current motor, then do the rod bolts while the new one is on the stand , but I havent tried it in the truck yet

Doesn't look to hard to drop the front diff.
