Don't forget about the associated valve float you may incur from more spring action. If you have high miles I'd consider a valve spring change also.

PM Vortec Stroker, he has 1.6 self aligning rockers. not sure what he did for install though

What is the lift on the stock cam, Vortec heads can only handle .420-.430" lift safely. There is only .450" between the retainer and the valve seal.
