Rotrex information with pictures
Alright guys. We have our prototype kit up and running on our mule.
A few things before I get into the info. The production kit will have molded induction piping and a cast supercharger bracket. The pictures shown use different pieces. This is kind of a sneak peek for you guys. For calibration we are still looking at options to decide what is best.
On to the fun stuff.
In stock form the 5.3 made 221 hp and 254 ft lbs on our chassis dyno. On the 1/4 mile sprint test it ran 15.279 at 88.934 mph.
With the supercharger bolted on and NO other modifications including ducting to the factory air box our results were 346 hp and 360 ft lbs on our chassis dyno. The 1/4 mile sprint test showed results of 13.861 at 97.642 mph with a 1.969 60 foot. All results provided using pump gas, and 8 lbs of boost.
On Friday night we are able to take the truck to the race track for a few real world passes.
Results as follows on stock chrome 20 inch wheels and tires.
60ft 2.1160
330ft 5.8578
1/8 8.9218
1/8 mph 80.54
1000ft 11.6329
1/4 13.9659
mph 96.58
Please note the very close margin in the sprint test on our dyno and the real world time slip. The difference is very small and can be contributed to the 60 foot time otherwise it is pretty much dead on.
I would say with no other modifications this is impressive for a 4700 lb truck.
Here is a little pic of Kurt um, making sure things work
The rest of the pics can be seen here.

Also how much boost would the headunit be good for and the pulleys that are listed what is the smallest one that would be recommended. I was saving up for kb supercharger but this unit looks like a good kit but we need more details about upgradability(i think thats a word) and will IC come with it, will injectors be included and estimated price I will be ordering my kb setup within the next couple of weeks but if this kit is a quality kit like it looks like it is then I would be able to save more money for other mods. Sorry about all the questions but I am really interested and wont to know more details.

Our project truck in it's present stage has the following. Rotrex supercharger, Baer brakes on all four corners, and lowering springs. Other than that it is bone stock.
The Rotrex supecharger is a centrifugal unit which is almost dead quiet under operation due to it's design.
As far as boost levels are concerned customers may be able to run a little higher boost but at 8 pounds we are approaching the limits of the unit. At this time we are using the largest unit available however, a new larger unit is in the works which should be available within a year.
The kits we offer will have a few options from complete bolt on with tuning, base kits, non intercooled, and intercooled.
As far as pricing I have no numbers yet. I can say it will be a very high quality kit and I would expect at least 4000.00 and above for bolt on type kits.
The Rotrex line is more suited towards street or OEM type applications where extreme modifications are not part of their market. The larger unit in the works will work better with more modifications.
Presently we are also working on a new GTO with a 389 inch stroker LSX and a C38-71. Pushing the limits of the blower we have made low 600's in hp and mid 500's in the tourqe department.
If anyone plans on checking out the Hot Rod Power Tour we will have a few vehicles including the truck pictured here and the GTO on display so you can check them out in person.
Most of us know torque moves us and hp gets us mph. The Rotrex superchargers produce much more torque than many others throughout the entire rpm range.
I will see if I can get a hold of some decent dyno graphs to post.
Thanks for the interest guys.
If I missed anything let me know...
