My wiring is run through the frame, up to and through the floor where the plastic sill plates are next to the seat, then under the carpet and into the console. The switch is mounted in the pocket directly behind and under the cigarette lighter. The switch is completely hidden and you just reach into the pocket to control it.

I will probably go through or next to the grommet on the driver's side, and put the switch next to the airbag off switch (next to the HVAC controls). I've sent a few things through that grommet already, and have a hole drilled next to it with a grommet with something else going through it, so I may just drill another hole. There are also vents in the back of the cab if you want an "easy" but not so trick solution...

EDIT:^^ beat me to it..
Mine is like this but then it runs along the sill plate and behind the kick panel, Then behind the glove box and into my cig lighter hole. If its DMH it will fit perfectly in that spot, Not sure but I think it was made to go there. It looks factory.
