what you think the limit is for the stock pump at RWHP/RWTQ? then how do you explain truck shutting off in high rpms in 3rd but once you let off the throttle everything else is normal? also on way there it felt like it was cutting out, also the gas gauge during this went to empty and stayed around there after it ran again. all gauges lit up like it ran out of fuel, but i had almost half tank to begin with and now the gauge is near empty. im wondering if im maxing out the 30s but they say at 58psi they should be around 36# injectors. this happend twice in the same night both in upper rpms in third at WOT..........which to my knowledge would put the most load on the situation and which should also require the most fuel. i havent even gotten a chance to spray yet so i know for sure i need to step up in the pump but just trying to figure out what i had encounterd

I got low-Z's but the peak and hold driver I run can support either. Check out: http://www.acceleronics.com/versafueler.htm

As I understand it, the only way you can increase the volume from a fuel pump is to boost its voltage (which is why the GTO with the boost a pump can support its hp -- he's over-boosting the pump).

I don't believe a 170lph + a 255lph will flow more than a single in tank 255lph or even close. I'd be willing to bet that there is minimal to no increase in volume in fuel pressure. Neither pump controls the pressure, the regulator does. The flow rating on the pump is the max flow of the pump at the rated voltage supplied to the pump motor, not fuel pressure of the vehicle. My GSS340s flow 255lph in my truck which runs at 58psi, in a ford which runs at 43.5psi or at any other fuel pressure.

Can I just do what the GTO did? But wouldn't it be better than the boost a pump to just run two 255's intake, that should increase volume? The more I look into injectors the more I don't want them. I agree with you I don't think the inline pump is doing much more than the stock pump for volume. What about the 42lbs injectors, can I get away with them aswell? Probably not right..

IMO its better to have the right sized pumps. Boost-a-pumps do work, they just worry me. I think they must shorten the life of the fuel pump, but that's just my opinion -- I have no evidence of it at all.

Ok! I think I will try the 255 intank, add 3 bar map for the meth, with extra nosel, ditch the inline, and run the boost pump. With this setup if I blow a fuse I am screwed! Let me rethink that.... Ok! I got it. Two 255's intank (less psi more gph whitch is more volume right) One pump on the switch,3 bar map, extra nosel, ditch the inline, and use the 97 C5 ls1 fuel rail... I think that will do it. Thank guys! This would be the most volume out of the stock lines right?

Yep. Sounds like a good plan to me.

I was searching old posts on fuel systems and ran across a post form Parish stating that the Fbody guys say that the stock fuel pumps are good for up to 450hp and the 255 inline is good up to 600hp. I saw on new era website, that the inline is rated for 500-600hp. I am running out at 600hp as well. Sounds about right. I think I just need a boost a pump, and the 3bar map for the meth and nosels. I don't think I want to change the intank pump, I was reading that the walbro pumps will run out of fuel around 1/8-1/4 tank if you get on it. I plan on taking the truck to the track with around 1/4 tank (alittle higher) I don't want to worry about that. I have a boost a pump laying around here somewhere, I took it off of my typhoon.

If I do this should I hook the boost a pump to the 255 or the stock pump? My vote is for the 255, because I think I will be limited to the 255 if it is in front of the boosted pump.

I think I will try to use the KB boost a pump with the 40amp and boost both pumps. They use this BAP on the cobras, they have two pumps stock.
