rust spots on used cam?

rust spots on used cam?
guys, a friend has a cam which has a rustspot on like 3 lobes. Would this hurt anything? Is their anyway to remove it? Im not sure how bad exactly they are.. but i doubt they are deep.. might be surface rust
any thoughts or opinions on what to do? They want to install it in their truck.. i think its a 216/220

if it's just surface rust that can be removed with a scotchbrite pad, i'd use it. if it's pitted especially on the "lift" portion of the lobe i wouldn't, it'll probably chew up the lifter.
