RUT ROW Blown up?

RUT ROW Blown up?
I think i might have blown up the 5.3. Right now it is running super lean on the L- terms and is missing at the same time. Running at 25 % until i give it gas then it drops to 21%. SES light is flashing when I move from a stop and is running super rough. Also my predator says that the mass airflow circuit is out of range and I have never saw that before.
Any ideas?
Thanks

go no farther. pull your plugs, all of them. yea, i know it's a pita, but you need to check them. if they all look alright, go check all of your tubing like xlr said, but, i doubt that is your problem. if you have a leak before the MAF, youjust won't have as much boost. if it is after the MAF, it would run rich and give low or negative LTRMS. i fear you may be right about it though. was it fun when it happened?

when you break a spring you will knoe it. the truck will barely run and miss badly. it might pop and back fire some also. i mean it will run horrible my truck would not go over 30 mph. it only takes a fiew min to pull the covers unless the head unit is in the way. i have seen a spring get wedged together just right to were it still kinda worked. i dont know why the gap was closed unless there is some debrie in there.
i would strongly to STOP running it and find the prob cause normaly when you keep on it is going to cost you more in the long run. i learned the hard way.

Hmmmm..... I wonder if the bad lean condition was caused by the misfires. If the cylinder doesn't light off that air goes right down to the O2 sensor and looks like a lean condition.
Did the plug have any other damage besides being shut. Any pitting or discoloration? That right there doesn't sound good. You might want to do a compression test and then a leakdown test on the cylinders to see if they're ok. I doubt one of those springs would break with that cam but, it might be a good idea to check them before driving or spinning the motor over again.
You might want to change your oil and check to see if there is any foreign material in there that shouldn't be.
Does the squirrel noise sound like popcorn popping or the ball rattling in a spray paint can?
Is the Predator still reading the MAF out of range deal?
Hopefully it's nothing major but, that plug being smashed up on the infamous number 7 cylinder just does not sound good.

Yes the Predator still reads the MAF out of range.... but no ses light still. It just sounds like tick, tick tick tick tick in relation to the engine speed when over 2000 rpms and gets a little lighter I think when i step on it more unless the blower is just lound enough that it makes it quiet.. not sure.
What could be wrong with this junker? I mean it has the same oil pressure, it just ticks now... is there carbon or something on top of the motor? Wouldn't the valves have let it out? or should i have turned it over without the plug in it? The plug wasn't really beat up... just pushed shut.

My vote is for a spun rod bearing. I had good oil pressure at first also, until the bearing was worn completely out and the metal on metal became worse. I hope I'm wrong, but you probrobally over revved it, closed the electrode on the plug, and spun a rod bearing in the process. I bet if you dropped the oil pan the cap on the spun bearing would have some blue (burnt looking) discoloration on it. Keep us informed, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I am going to tear it down tomorrow so I will keep everyone posted.
