Default the the s/c burb is running (Finally)

the burb is running, still have some things to do with the combo. 5.3L Radix, stock manifolds, Corsa cat-back ls6-6 cam and heads. the tuning was done on a Mustang Dyno so the #'s are lower than I expected but it ran 326hp /371trq. from doing some research on the mustang vs. Dynojet it seems to be agreed that there is about an 11-14% disparity. (works out to 360hp/412trq at 11%) I am going to do some power pulls on the dynojet to get a true A/B on the motor(213hp stock, dynojet) A cpouple of interesting things cam up though which shed some light on the #'s. 1. the 4wd burb is in the 21-23% driveline loss arena they did some coast down and road load simulations. 2. STOCK EXHAUST MANIFOLDS MUST GO. the head cam combo is more efficient at flowing air as the max boost was 6.2 PSI ( I believe most people are seeing 7-7.5lbs) and settled to about 5.7-5.8 from the torque peak to the hp peak but didn't start climbing at the upper ends. Once I add headers the boost will drop a little more as I'll be more efficiently scavenging the cylinders estimates are a 1/2 lb. to 3/4 drop in boost so I'm going to order a 3.20 inch pulley from the 3.40 it came with. I'll post as I go.

Nice to see another FI. What does the Radix do to tune compensate for the boost, fuel and timing wise?

the standard system is a micro tuner that uploads a new program. from what I can tell comparing the two on Edit they are throwing a lot of fuel at it as the MAF climbs the grams/sec scale with it jumping from about .5grams on up It pulls some timing but has a really rich mixture 9.5:1 when they did the tune the traded off some timing but pulled the AFR to 11.4:1. Although I've only driven it one full day I was running autotap and it looks as if I can add some back in. there's still a lot of power left in it but i is a night and day difference even around town.

A set of longtube headers will help a lot.Stay away from sticky tires and drag race take takeoffs and your transmission will thank you.

I'm on the fence about which brand, the ASM's but I'm wary of their shitty ceramic coating. the TOG's but they are a mid length, or the FLP's which look really nice but are spendy and I would prefer a coated header to cut down on radiated heat in the engine bay. does anybody have any A/B comparison for gains from headers? I seen claims from 15-45hp.
I got the billet servos sitting right next to me here they are going in this weekend, they should extend my trans life a little . I'm thinkin of putting in a trans go shift kit also, but the billets will be the first.
Whitt, what does your boost curve look like, and what PSI are you getting?

I've had good luck with my ASMs the coating looks perfect after a year.TOGs and FLPs are also supposed to be good headers too.You can't go wrong wiyh any of the three. With a 3" pulley the Radix makes 91/2 lbs of boost and probably 50 to 60 more hp, enough to destroy the G80 differential. The 3.2" pulley makes 71/2 lbs of boost and is a good compromise for the street.
