This thread isn't for arguing numbers. Our dyno history shows anywhere from 205-220 and that is based on the same dyno that got us these current numbers. We have NEVER seen a stock 5.3 without electric fans over 225. Comparing from one dyno to another is irrelevant. Compared to our normal numbers on this same dyno, the gains are impressive.

I wasnt trying to argue numbers i know every dyno reads different.

This would have been a great help if the cam was dynoed to show gains then bolt on the heads to show there gains.
That way we know what each part gains and what to be expected.
I think if done that way it would help sales on the cam and the new heads since these parts are fairly new and not tested by consumers.

I really like the build but i expected more compared to my mild setup.
Lets see some track times

I wasn't trying to argue. I was only pointing out that every dyno is different. And while the the other guy said it was low you can't really say that with out having some sort of idea were the base is. So let's say you gained 80rwhp thats quite impressive! I bet there is a little more in there when you get rid of the parasitic loss from the old clutch fan. Is the tranny bone stock? I don't remember if yousaid any thing about that...

Likewise, I was not trying to argue the numbers. Only pointing out our dyno history and current results. It is so hard to compare number to other dynos, other trucks, etc. Track times will tell the real results, as I did get ETs before the swap, and recorded weather conditions, so I could convert them to sea level for a more accurate comparison.

We hope to do some cam only stuff soon with the HT1 and see what results it yields by itself.

Trans is a rebuilt stocker. Around 3 years old. Numbers should improve vastly after E-Fans, Pulley, and 3.73s.

292/290 ain't bad imo...where is it making the power? Tuned or un-tuned?
Bigger numbers don't mean jack, how the heck else does an sbc outrun a bbc?
I bet this is an 1/8th mile killer.

My LQ9 put down 305 through clutch fan, 4l60e, 2nd gear, and longtubes. Everything else stock. So, 292 is very nice for a 5.3.

Here's a dyno of a 4.8 5spd, CAI, shorties, exhaust. 1st run was a stock tune on a dirty MAF, second run was a stock tune on a cleaned MAF, third run was my 2 months experience with HPT taken from a truck with a dirty MAF.

That hurt engine must have still been strong, my 04 RCSB 3.73 gears ran 9.82 at 72 mph.

So Beau you all ever do one of these for the old Vortec trucks with the new 383 crate engine and some of your better Vortec heads?

Heard Lubbock isn't dry anymore so you don't have to drive to the "strip" for liquor
