i kind of figured that it might push some of the shavings but it was a failed attempt at a suggestion.

Yeah i am serious, got a better idea? if he gets the shavings off the threads first! There is a attachment that is like 6 inches to 1 foot long that is about 1/4 in thich that attaches to the air compressor handle. If you stick it in the cylinder and blow where else does the air go but back out the hole followed by the shavings.

If you try the brush make sure you have a shop vac sucking the shavings out.

You may be able to rent/borrow one from an autoparts store is my point. The normal ones run about 300 bucks for a decent one thus I would think it wouldnt be out of the realm of possibility that they have one.

Yeah I got a better idea, a thread chaser. There is no guarantee he will get most of the shavings out, some of the shavings could get lodged on in the ring land area, in the ring gap, get blown up through an open intake valve back into the intake then kill another cylinder. Its a bad idea IMO.

Sorry you are having so many problems here lately, I went through it all too, unfortunately most go through this period. I did with my 5.3 then my 418 back in Jan. Im just now getting back to where I feel like working on it again.
