Default Service engine light

I installed some gibson shorties on a 99 5.3 and my check engine light keeps coming on. I unplugged my battery cable and it went away for while and then came back on. Any suggestions.

You need to scan the computer and see what code's in there before you can begin diagnosis. I think that AutoZone can scan it for you for free. If it happened right after you installed your shorties, it's possible that something is unplugged or one of the headers is leaking allowing air in and throwing off the O2 sensor readings.
