Check the gas cap ... it will throw a code if you don't get it on good.

Default light

Danny,
Mine is on in my truck because I have a 180 degree thermostat and its cold here in Indiana. If I was you I would go to your local auto zone and have them hook there little diagnostic tool to your computer. It shouldn't cost anything. Goodluck

Alot of people do have problems with the gas cap loose or not put on good setting a code. Once the problem is corrected the light just doesnt go off, it has to go through several ignition cycles first. If it doesnt go off soon you can have somebody check it and see what code is causing the check engine light to come on.

Good luck!
