Default SES light = P0106 & P0135

Went by autozone and found out it throwing two P0135 codes and a P0106 code. Replaced the MAP sensor and it's still throwing it. Checked all the connections to the MAP sensor and made sure the grounds were tight. Engine smells weird also when running, kinda like it's running rich. What causes it to throw the P0135 codes? Thanks.

P0135-O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1) ...if the wiring is OK (not broken or shorted), you more than likely have a bad O2 sensor. As for the MAP sensor code, I wonder if the low vacuum characteristics of your cam is creating a problem with pcm logic...I'd assume that with cam numbers like yours, idle vacuum must be pretty low and might be out of range of the parameters set in the PCM. Might need some tuning to compensate.

Thanks for the info! Which side is Bank 1? What code would it throw for the other side? Also, should I save myself the $45 and take the MAP sensor back to autozone and not worry about that part?

Glad to help Bank 1 is the driver's side (cylinders 1/3/5/7) and Bank 2 is the passenger's side (cylinders 2/4/6/8). If the front O2 sensor on the passenger's side had a problem, the code would be for Bank 2, Sensor 1...not sure what the P0xx is, but somewhere around here there's a code listing, or a google search for OBDII codes will yield some results.

Since the MAP sensor didn't fix the problem, I'd return it if they'll take it back Also check the harness from the sensor to the PCM for any breaks or corrosion.

BudHayes is correct. Bank 1 sensor 1 is always drivers side sensor 1. And vice versa.

Check your HTD O2 sensors. What Bud said is correct listen to him.
