Default Shift kit and servo question

Sup guys, im about to change my fluid and filter in my Z71.....been 69K miles so i've let it go a little. But i was thinking, while im going to have the pan and off i could go ahead and do a shift kit and servo upgrade. I've done some reading up on it but nerver really thought that much about it because i've always thought about doing the 4L80E conversion. I'm probably going to wait until mine craps out before i do that, but i was wondering exactly whats involved and how hard it is. I've never installed a shift kit before, i've always tried to stay away from auto's....mostly a stick guy.

So if anyone wants to chime in and tell me what im looking at and if it's something i should try and tackle. I'm a pretty confident mechanic and fabricator....just never cracked open a automatic before. I was wondering also if it would beef the tranny up enough to have some T/M taken out of the program. Im about to complete my bolt on's with a set of Thorley's, so i don't know if it would be okay to have some taken out with the strain im already putting on everything with the 35's. I was thinking about taking out 80% or whatever Nelson recommends when i get my tune from them.

Just lookin for some feedback if this would actually benefit me any or should i just wait until i can afford the 4L80E swap with a new T-Case? BTW, i got a trip to Savannah to take weekend after next so if its something i should do and stay in town for a week or so until everything checks out okay....i'll just wait until after then.
