Shift kit and tranny build?
I want to get my tranny built, 4l60e, and have a shift kit done but have no idea where to turn. Any of you guys in the Northeast with any recommendations. Thanks in advance.

Well if your sig is your name, why do you want to get a new trans rebuilt? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Anyway, a TransGo shift kit is the way to go. I also highly recommend the Superior Products billet intermediate and overdrive servos.
www.kdsperformance.com has good prices on stuff there. Talk to Chad.

Re: Shift kit and tranny build?
I am going to get a blower and 6.0 swap so I figured why not do it now. My boss has an 01 ls1 firebird with the 4l60e and it crapped out at 40,000 miles. Granted he drives harder and visits the track way more than me, but why risk it?

Re: Shift kit and tranny build?
i got mine from flp, the first tranny i got from them only lasted a few weeks but i had a bad wheel hop problem, more of a complete truck bucking problem. they sent me out another one and so far so good now that i got the bucking taken care of.
my 1/8th mile time indicates high 11's in the 1/4 and i would guess around 500rwhp. considering the weight of the truck i have to say i am impresed with their work.
lots of guys quesitoning why are you riping apart a brand new truck, well me too, if your going to do all this work(6.0, blower, tranny...) you might as well get a clean 99 for 1/2 the price and go to town on that. you could pay for all these mods with the money you save on the truck. anyways, sounds like you are building the same truck i have, ls1tech is a great site with insane amouts of information to give out. almost makes moding these things easy.

Re: Shift kit and tranny build?
the reason I am doing this to this truck is that I got a sweet deal on my truck but I had to pick from what was on the lot. I got the only 5.3 scsb I could find and I am sorry but I am not a big fan of the 99-02 front end. I have had it a month so I can't trade it in now without losing 10 grand.
