should I have a H pipe???
hey guys Ive had my exhaust for quiet sometime now but Ive been reading and now wondering if I should have an X or H pipe in it...hell I don't even know if its the right size pipe for all that matters...
its a custom true dual with flowmasters thats 2.25" pipe all the way back...where the y pipe was they just cut it and ran 2 separate pipe to the mufflers...sounds good and all but I will say that I have no real low end torque...Im really considering installing headers and gutting my cats(only to pass visual inspection)and maybe even a cam...
so I guess my question is...is my exhaust hurting my performance more than its helping???...any suggestions if so...also if I put LTs on my truck do I have to alter cat location at all???...thanks in advance!

so do you think that I could just get some 2.25" pipe and use a hole saw and cut the pipe accordingly???...if so where would be the best spot on the exhaust to do that...close to the motor, or just in front or behind the mufflers???...
Thanks for the responses

Speaking from experience with duals on a 4.8, IMO you should switch back to a single 3.0 exhaust... I ran duals with a dual in/dual out magnaflow (integrated X Pipe) muffler and my lowend and MPG sucked... This was on factory manifolds and cats... I switched to LTs, no cats and a single 3.0 exhaust system and the lowend feels so much better and my MPG returned to normal... Just my .02.....
