Sick of my exhaust
#22
I'm not sure on the size of the Gibson but it's quiet and well made. I've had other exhaust but this one is by far the best one I've owned. HP gains is probably about the same as any other exhaust I've owned as well.

So ive been thinking about it the last few days and I think I want to do dual 3" off the headers to dual 3" cats to a DI/DO 3" 5x11x22 muffler directly to a 5x11x22 DI/SO 3/4" muffler with a 4" tailpipe.
The 4" is pretty huge for a gas engine, especially since im NA at the moment, but id rather it be too big than too small. I dont think backpressure will be an issue with cats and two mufflers despite the huge size. The cost of 4" over 3.5" is negligible up front. Flowmaster makes a 4 piece 4" tailpipe kit for only a few dollars more than their 3.5" pipe which is about the same as an escalade 3.5" pipe.
So its dual cats (59559) > 12599(muf 1) > 12594(muf 2) > 15929(t-pipe) > 5" tip
I already have the cats, and could sell the old muffler, and 3.5" dmh electric cutout with pipe to recoup some of the cost.
Now to find a competent shop in North/Middle Alabama....its getting really old hearing "Yee dont have dem cats? Hell yur ingene is gonna blow up!"

It looks like you want to go with duals, but i like my system a lot. I have pacesetter LT's, ory, e-cutout and a gibson swept side cat-back. There is absolutly no drone inside the truck when the cutout is closed. It sounds pretty much like stock when just cruising. If you gas it a little bit, you can hear it, but nothing anoying or loud. This setup with an e-cutout, is by far my favorite exhaust.

PM CurtD, he is in Birmingham, he is awesome and does great work. Im really interested to see how this thing sounds, I might possibly go this route too except without the cats.
That last muffler says its a dual 3" outlet, is there any issues running that muffler in reverse? I know with a chambered muffler it would be bad but IIRC the magnaflows are a straight through design.
Please post up sound clips when you get it done.
