Sickest 5.3l
I have a 5.3 with a bent rod just sitting around, and what I want to know is what can I do with it? I mean I want to rebuild it, but I want to do the absolute most I can do. This will be a project that I'll do slow and steady so just lay the ideas on me and I will shoot for the stars!! I want to make the biggest and baddest 5.3l ever! Ok let the ideas fly.
** Not sure what it'll be going in yet... but it will be a truck of some sort. either s-10, colorado, or silverado

ummmmm bore it, stroke it, forge it, put some awsome heads prc or wcch or afr, nasty cam and big turbo
IMO thats what i would do! first it would need to be a 5.7 with all arp if its gonna be a nasty (5.3)

I'm doin a 383 stroker, but not that extreme. You could easily get extreme with it though! It's just money and time! lol I'm sure you could go bigger with the stroker, by doin some clearancing. I would definately go turbo though! Do some more research and good luck to ya!

package deal
You have to look at the total package to set your goals. Tranny needs to be up to HP levels you plan. All the torque in the world does no good without suspension and tires to match. If you are racing then you have track requirements to meet such as driveshaft loop, rollcage, etc. If you are serious the engine spec's should probably come last. Most guys do a rolling upgrade as they get used to the power instead of jumping in over their heads. Think 'synergy'.
Are you doing the work yourself? Do you have emissions standards to meet or is this for track only? Can you afford broken parts?
