I think cats really clean up the sound. I'd keep them if I were you. They also produce a nice deep and clean sound.

No dont cut the wires, theres a GM clip 4''-5'' from the bung. Just un clip it and your good. You can cover the female end if you want but after you have it deleted there will be no voltage to it. As for delteting it any shop with hptuners/efilive will be able to do it for cheap. But while your there you might as well get a tune too, more power as well as gas mileage.

I ran 3.5" off the factory Y in front of the tires and it was good. The CATS take out the bark without silencing the roar. Popping may occur before tuning.

So you just ran straight pipe with cats and it sounded good on a 5.3? Any power gains or losses?
