Silverado SS muffler and tailpipe installed!
I had the muffler and tailpipe installed this morning, it's quieter than I thought it would be considering GM says "it's tuned for a throaty exhaust sound" but I still like it. I was running a stock muffler and 3" tailpipe from a Tahoe and the SS set up is about 2 db's louder which is really all I was looking for. The SS muffler has dual 2.75" inlets and a single 3.5" tailpipe with a stainless tip. The muffler guys did a good job installing it! They replaced the stock 2.75" front pipe with a new 3" pipe and installed a Magnaflow "Y" onto the dual inlet pipes of the SS muffler. They cut off most of the dual inlet pipes leaving about them about one foot long and connected the "Y", then the single 3" pipe flanged up to my factory "Y" pipe. Looks like a factory install and it does feel like I picked up a few ponies, took less pedal to get around on the freeway driving home. Overall I'm happy, a little more exhaust note with no resonation and a slight performance gain.

Actually, I think I've found my perfect muffler, really!
It does have a nice tone with NO interior resonation, only slightly louder than stock and I did pick up some power. There's a pretty good hill on the way to my son's school and I usually can't make go up it in OD unless I get a pretty good running start. Well since the SS muffler went on, I've gone up it in OD every time with no running start. I start at the bottom doing 60 mph and it downshifts into 3rd when I hit 50 mph because the truck does lose speed going up the hill. Now it doesn't down shift, I still lose speed but not as quickly so my truck will make it to the top doing about 52 mph. I'm a happy camper!

The only thing I don't is the tip, I may get a slash cut Gibson tip but other than that, I likes!
