Default simple mods for LQ9?

I have just bought an 04 345hp LQ9 6litre engine out of a Silverado SS to put in my 70 Impala. I am looking for simple things to improve it a bit: I was thinking an LS6 intake (how good is the original intake?), a cam, an air box, lower temp thermostat... Any comments on these, will this engine respond well to this? Other ideas?
I will be using a 4L80E, any suggestions on what to get/avoid? Are they all the same? Is the stock converter OK, or what stall should I look for (street driving and some bracket racing)?
Thanks, any input is good!!!

have you tried the conversion section over on tech? you'll probably get lot more answers there.

Cam, headers, and good tune is good for another 60+rwhp. The ls6 manifold requires moving around some bracketry. I would do the victor junior manifold before the ls6.

I would recomend a converter for the 80e. Factory one is heavy!!!
