slight hesitation on highway?

he just said it does it when the AC is off, so its not the compressor...

Could you be feeling the torque converter locking?

If it is your tourqe converter clutch then you would see a drop and rise in RMP's. Your A/C does not have to be on for the compressor cluch to engage, by turning your HAVC control to defrost will engage the compressor also.

I know you said that you're not coding, did you check the plugs and wires anyway?

A slipping trans would be a rise in RPM's under throttle with little to no acceleration of the the truck. To prove that it is or is not the compressor engaging turn your fan control to the OFF position and see if the problem still occurs.
