ive driven stock converter with a 5.7 ls1 and 226/226 112 cam and actually enjoyed driving the truck more than i did with the 3600 converter.

have your tuner spend some time on idle and part throttle tuning instead of just getting it to idle sometimes and run great WOT.

I know we all have our idea of stock drivability... but I feel like a lot of these posts are misleading. These cams require a higher Idle... that alone is annoying to me daily driving with a stock converter. You fight against the converter coming to a stop and feel the downshifts more as slowing down etc. I understand its not enough to ruin your day... but its totally misleading to say that its exactly like stock.

I'm sure I am more particular about stuff like this than most, but I just hate to see someone with no experience with a cammed vehicle to be mislead. A smoother Idle, and tighter converter are exactly why I chose the power adder I did for what its worth...

Default is this for a 5.3?

if so some have a little lope with the 206/212 112 comp
going with something like a vinci 210/218 112 + 5 cam may be pretty close to what You want. a l6 trailblazer converter would be great and cheap!
if it dont lope enough i understand it can thru tuning

With muffler.
Cam is from SDPC. Ht-1 cam 214/218 552/560 lift I think on a 111lsa.
It sounds great and performs excellent. I'm running a 288,000 mile stock trans with stock converter and it does just fine with no loss of low end.
