Of course!

As for the 383, no one has told me you can't do it with the 5.3 block... I don't see why you couldn't, i guess worse case would the 347 stroker kit from Lunati or Eagle... I would settle for that too, all i really care about is it being stroked and forged because i gots plenty of room to boost more with my turbo. And yes, if i could find a way to afford the 6.0 i would so be there! I am still hunting for a used one just for fun...

I spent some money on my 5.3 as well. SC JE custom .20 over pistons, internals, blah blah. Threw a throw out bearing. Motor dead. 5K miles. Machine shop wouldn't take the blame. I have a bad taste in my mouth of building the 5.3.

So the stroker would cost ya less than the 6.0? Not a stroker is great, just curious.

costs less because i can reuse my block and heads, to go up to 6.0+ i need new/used block and new/used heads... The stroker rotating kit costs about the same for 347,383 and 402... I have not given up on the 402 yet, just have to find a used 6.0 priced just right... Besides, i am in no hurry since i have a back up car for this exact reason...

Oh and a stupid qustion but, i am asuming that my 4L80e will bolt right up? I don't see why it wouldn't the 6.0's are still LS series motors, right? I know since it's an 2002 motor i will probably have and issue with TB since 02's where cable not drive by wire but, if i have to get a new TB so be it unless i can reuse mine off the 5.3...

Are there any good write up's here for swaping to the 6.0? My thinking is it should be fairly strait forward and probably alot easier then the transmission swap was... Searching comes up with too many things...

The only fitment issue was with early 1999-2000 6.0L motors with iron heads. They had a slightly thicker rear crank surface where the flywheel bolted up. Since you are getting a 2002 model there will be no problems.
As far as the swap there will be no snags. You can run the 6.0L on the 5.3L computer but I would suggest finding LS1Edit or HPTuners ( buy a copy or find a local tuner ).
Swap, boost, enjoy!

Awesome! Yea, i will leave the tuning to my guy in town.

Are there any good aftermarket motor mounts out there, i have a hard time trusting the stock ones with the amount this thing is going to make when i am done with it... Unless the stocks are up to the task.?.?.?

Did i mention i am really excited about this!!! Gigitty Gigitty GOO! LoL

Motor fitment won't be a problem, it'll bolt right in....remember to install the crank spacer that is on your 5.3 crank onto the 6.0 crank or you'll never get the motor bolted up to the trans

If the 6.0 has a DBW TB you're better off switching intakes with the 5.3 as the DBW intakes don't have the threaded bosses for the cables hangers and supports. An intake swap is REALLY easy and will save you alot of work duplicating the bosses on the new intake

Skip aftermarket motor mounts, the stockers are PLENTY STRONG (parish uses 'em in a 1000hp truck....you'll be fine)
