FWIW, I ran across two vehicles today that had bad MAFs (1999 Firebird Formula, 2000 Denali). It's definitely not uncommon.

Can you grab a log with the MAF disconnected? You can disable the max line pressure by checking the transmission DTC Fault Max Pressure Enablers and setting it to No for P0103.
