Default some interesting results..the spectre CAI aint no joke

for ***** and giggles i went from my k&n cold air intake that i paid around 300 for and put in the spectre cold air intake instead..from apperance the intake tube on the spectre kit is about 1/4" larger in I.D. it has a smoother transition into the throttle body and the filter is actually larger as well..looked convinsing enough so i tried it out and i actually felt the difference.. a good 5-10hp on top of the k&n set up..i mean it pulls harder i actually burn em from a 30 roll now instead for breakin em loose.. and i think the set up cost around 139.99 lol im not sure i paid around 100 since i work at a parts store..
anways thought it was interesting how a high price and name brand doesn't make it a good CAI

I'd rather get the spectre too vs the k&n as you will save a lot of cash.

I really don't believe all the hype about cai's to start with though but you cant go wrong with a spectre for the money.

Some other spectre type alternatives are DPT motorsports cai kit for $75 shipped on ebay. They come in a wide variety for diff engines.

Another one is EAuto tuning cai kits, they are good for the money. $84.99 shipped They also have another one for $5 more on the site.

Or you could just mod your stock airbox and do the free mod.

your probably burning instead of breaking loose because of the 50* weather here lately. more power and less traction = smoke show.

This might be true but all the aluminum tube'd intakes will heat soak ALOT more than the plastic/composite tube'd intakes will. My brother has an AEM cai (aluminum) and i have a K&N cai (plastic) and after a few races if we pop our hoods, his is hot to the touch and mine is barely warm... Oh and yeah, I'm with you on this one TXsilverado, is just the cold weather.

aluminum has more heat soak than the plastic, but it really doesnt matter considering the air is in there for a second, plus its pulling cooler air from behind the grill

both the links posted by jrmchevyman look just like the AEM kit, you just need the dryflow filter to go with it, shitty thing is its an exact copy of an AEM but its illegal cause of the dumbass carb sticker
