Default spark plug removal question

I'm having trouble removing the spark plug wires on my 6.0 . I pulled the rubber piece that surrounds the wire, then pulled the aluminum sleeve out. The wire was still attached to the spark plug. I guess this is more of a question of how do I remove the rubber boot and steel sleeve. I'm installing headers and it's quite difficult getting to some of the bolts on the manifold. Does the end of the wire just pop off the top of the spark plug if i pull on it?

Just pull really hard on them they will come off. I scraped the **** out of my elbow pulling one off when I put my MSD's on.

Usually I just use a pair of pliers and grab the out side of the aluminum sleeve and pull really hard, sometimes it take a little bit of wiggling too. Just don't pull on the wires or rubber boot or you could rip the wire right out of the boot itself.
