Negative on 50 weight oil. If you like Mobil 1 just use the 10W30 or at the most 0W40 European blend (available at Walmart), that's what I run in my GTO. If I drove it in the winter (which I don't), I'd use 5W30.

PP is a top shelf synthetic, comparable or better than mobil one.

ive NEVER ran pennzoil in any of my vehicles. heard bad stuff about them back in the day and havent looked at them since. Ive always run Quaker State or Castrol and had very good luck. I've used Mobil 1 on this truck cuz I get it for free at my work and thus far have not had any problems. Been using it for around 40k miles. I just figured Id use a thicker Mobil 1 since ours is 5w-20. Yes I have heard Amsoil is great, don't know where to get it unless oreillys has it but i prefer getting oil at walmart if i have to pay for it cuz its a lot cheaper.

Oh I see, I take testing and real world data over word of mouth.

Very valid point and opinion, but to each their own

just saying that the pinnzoil your thinking about was conventional and from like 10 years ago. its contained "wax" in it so after time it would build up. the pinnzoil platinum is full synthetic and has better cleaning agents then most of the oil out there. i know this for a fact as my old truck i mainly ran the specials that was as the time of swap and all of them had a lifter tick or something. once i started using the PP it quieted it down.

you can run what you like but the biggest thing is changing it regularly.
